While the Land Down Under do not commemorate Thanksgiving Day the same way the Americans in the USA celebrate it big time, I believe that giving thanks and being grateful do not call for any definite time to be able to show how much you appreciate someone.
I personally would like to make December as a Thanksgiving Month. Therefore, all posts you’ll read from here onward will be paying homage to all the people that have touched my life in one way or another.
Please allow me to pay my love and respect to a very good friend who had always been there for me whenever, wherever. Her name is Jackie. She is a friend from our Church who originally hailed from Gensan but settled down in Manila permanently.
Whenever I prepare for my travels out of the country, Jackie is always the first one to offer her home to me with open arms. She is the only friend that never hesitated to give it her all- from the preparation of food, being my tourist guide, the packing of my luggage; name it, she is more than willing to do it all for me.
She is always my stop over whenever I set foot in Manila and she is often the one who fetches me at the Airport. She disregards all her other activities to make way for my arrival.
She prepares a great deal prior to my arrival. She makes sure that the fridge is full for all of the menus that she’s gonna cook during the entire duration of my stay. She also makes sure that she prepares very special meals for her “honorable guest,” naks!
Kidding aside, I learned from Jackie a lot of good qualities as a friend. She has always reached out and she never hesitated one bit to help out a friend. Even before you ask for her assistance, you’d be surprised she already had offered herself to do it for you. I could only cry for the warmth and genuine friendship that she showed me like no other!
I feel very blessed to have Jackie in my life. I will be forever grateful to her and to her husband Alvin and the rest of her family for being so good to me, not only in one occasion but countless times. I know she will be blessed ten folds for she has a good and caring heart.

Jackie with her beautiful family
I miss and love you, Jackie my friend! Until we meet again!
